Partner / Director
Jurgens is the CEO of Jurgens Bekker Attorneys Inc and is the man currently “sitting in the chair”. Jurgens was admitted as an Attorney in 1998, the year in which he founded Jurgens Bekker Attorneys Inc. He holds BA and LLB degrees from the University of Stellenbosch. Jurgens served articles with the firm Louw & Heyl in Roodepoort and from 1 July 1998 practiced for his own account under the name and style of Jurgens Bekker Attorneys until the firms incorporation in 2024. He specialises in general litigation, general commercial work, arbitrations as well as dealing with all aspects of Magistrate Court and High Court litigation.
Jurgens is an admitted attorney affiliated to the Law Society of the Northern Provinces as well as the Cape Law Society.

Iréne Welling
Partner / Director
Iréne Welling obtained her BA Law degree from the University of Stellenbosch and her LLB from the Rand Afrikaans University in 1994 and 1997 respectively. She joined the firm in 1999. She specialises in Family Law, High Court and Magistrate Court litigation as well as Administration of Estates. She is also an accredited Mediator and has vast experience in Arbitrations and High Court trials. Iréne is an admitted attorney affiliated to the Law Society of the Northern Provinces as well as the Cape Law Society. Iréne heads our Family Law and Estates Department.

Megan Pires obtained her LLB degree from the University of Johannesburg in 2012. She joined the firm in 2011. Louis Poriazis obtained his LLB degree and Master’s degree in Labour Law from the University of Witwatersrand in 2010 and 2014 respectively. He joined the firm in 2010. He specialises in Labour Law, Administrative Law and Mining Law as well as High Court and Magistrate Court litigation. He heads our Labour Law Department and is well experienced in CCMA and Labour Court matters.
